We train and certify the engineers who deploy AI in the field.
Artificial Intelligence Uni Ltd (AIU.ac) is a UK-registered learning provider and BCS Approved Centre. We develop and deliver professional certifications for AI deployment roles, led by the Certified Forward Deployed Engineer (CFDE): a training course and a separate certification examination at Foundation, Professional and Specialist levels.
Who we are
A registered provider, a credentialing authority, and a research arm.
Founded in 2022 and registered in England and Wales, AIU exists to build the standard for AI deployment work and to train the people who meet it. Our flagship programme, the CFDE, was designed in June 2025 and delivered on-premises to the 2025 cohort between August and October 2025 before being prepared for global online delivery.

The CFDE credential stack: Foundation, Professional, and Specialist. Two further programmes, C3AE (AI Automation) and CAME (AI Management), are in development. Each pairs a training course with a separate certification examination.

Sovereign AI Lab (SAIL)
Our research arm, operated as a joint initiative with affiliated company XEROTECH LTD. Seven published papers with DOIs, three open models, and one published dataset on HuggingFace. Its governance and evaluation frameworks inform our Professional-level modules.

An employer-verifiable credential
The credential is awarded on passing a certification examination held separately from the training course; the capstone is marked by practitioner reviewers against the programme’s assessment criteria. Employers may verify a CFDE holder by emailing registrar@aiu.ac; a public register is planned.

Dr Ajaz Hussain Hashmi

AIU’s research arm, the Sovereign AI Lab (SAIL), is run jointly with XEROTECH LTD, a UK AI company that deploys production systems in regulated and general industries. That work supplies the case material and the evaluation frameworks in the CFDE curriculum, and XEROTECH’s platform, CallGPT 6X, is the AI workspace AIU learners use throughout training.
