Refund & Returns
This policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for a course or certification purchased directly from Artificial Intelligence University (AIU.ac). It works alongside our Terms & Conditions.
Your statutory right to cancel (within 14 days)
If you are a consumer, you may cancel your enrolment within 14 days of confirmation and receive a full refund, provided the course has not yet started. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, email hi@aiu.ac within the 14-day period. We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your cancellation.
Refunds after a course has started (discretionary)
Once a course has started, you are beyond the statutory cooling-off period, so any refund is offered at AIU’s discretion as a goodwill measure rather than as a legal entitlement.
As a goodwill measure, we will consider a refund, no questions asked, if you request it within:
- the first module, for courses of three or more modules;
- the first third of the course, for courses of fewer than three modules; or
- at any reasonable point, for courses delivered without modules.
After this window, no refund is available.
Deductions
From any refund we may deduct only genuine costs already incurred, where those costs are explicitly evidenced. These may include payment-gateway and bank charges, administration costs, and the cost of materials or additional services already provided to you that are separate from core course delivery (for example, books or one-to-one mentoring). We do not apply arbitrary fees or penalties.
Condition of a discretionary refund
Because a refund after a course has started is a discretionary concession, accepting it means you will not be admitted to that same programme again in future. This is to ensure you do not inadvertently re-enrol on, and pay for, a programme you have already chosen to leave.
How to request a refund
Email hi@aiu.ac with your enrolment details and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and to process approved refunds promptly to your original payment method.
