Refund & Returns

This policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for a course or certification purchased directly from Artificial Intelligence Uni Ltd (AIU.ac). It works alongside our Terms & Conditions.

General

AIU does not sell the third-party courses it curates and recommends. Those links take you to the provider’s own site, where you purchase and pay under the provider’s terms. Any refund for a third-party course is a matter between you and that provider; see our Affiliate Disclosure. The following applies to programmes AIU delivers and takes payment for directly.

Refund Policy: Certified Forward Deployed Engineer programmes

There is no application fee. The programme fee is payable on application, after any scholarship band has been confirmed, and is refunded in full if your application is not accepted.

Enrolment closes 14 days before the cohort commences. No course access or materials are provided before the commencement date.

The administration fee is £77, equal to 7% of the standard course fee, and applies regardless of any scholarship reduction.

Refunds are issued to the original payer by the original payment method within 5 working days of our decision or of receipt of a valid cancellation. Where an employer paid, the refund is issued to the employer. AIU does not mediate reimbursement arrangements between applicants and employers.

Deferral in cases of hardship

A learner may request, in writing to admissions@aiu.ac, deferral of their place to a later cohort of the same programme and level on grounds of hardship (illness, bereavement, involuntary job loss, or comparable circumstances). Requests must be received by the end of week 4 of the cohort (for the October 2026 cohort, Sunday 15 November 2026, 23:59 UK). Deferral is granted at AIU’s discretion, once only, subject to seat availability, to the next available cohort within 12 months. No refund is made on deferral; the fee paid is carried to the deferred cohort. No top-up is charged if the standard fee has increased, and any scholarship reduction is honoured. Progress is not carried; the learner restarts the programme. A deferred place not taken up within 12 months lapses without refund.
