How We Curate

How We Curate
Alongside its own programmes, AIU.ac points readers to selected courses on third-party platforms. This page explains the basis on which those courses were selected.
AIU is a UK Registered Learning Provider (UKPRN 10095512) and BCS Approved Centre. Its own programmes, led by the Certified Forward Deployed Engineer (CFDE), are delivered directly by AIU. Separately, AIU has curated a selection of courses from third-party platforms including Pluralsight, Educative, Pearson, and edX.
Where AIU links to a third-party course, the purchase and contract are with that provider, not with AIU. Some links are affiliate links; the Affiliate Disclosure governs.
Independence
How curated courses were selected
Not paid placement
Providers were not charged to be listed. Inclusion was an editorial choice.
Not commission-led
Affiliate commission rates did not determine which courses were included or how prominently they appear.
No provider editorial control
Provider partnerships gave access to course material and tracking links. They did not give providers influence over what AIU wrote.
Written, not imported
Curated course pages were written by AIU rather than auto-imported from provider catalogues.
Basis of assessment
What was considered
Courses were assessed against the provider’s own published information and preview material.
The provider
Established platforms with a published instructor vetting process, transparent pricing, a refund policy, and stable course URLs. UK-recognised qualification providers were considered on the basis of current Ofqual or comparable recognition, a published syllabus, and a named awarding body.
The course
The syllabus, the instructor’s stated background, and the platform’s preview material, checked against what the course claims to teach.
Who it is and is not for
Curated pages say who a course suits and who it may not suit. A course that fits one reader and not another is described that way.
Date last checked
Each curated page shows when it was last checked against the provider’s live page. Third-party courses change without notice; readers should confirm current details on the provider’s site before purchasing.
Affiliate relationships
Commercial relationships and what they do not change
Some outbound links to third-party courses are affiliate links. If a reader enrols through such a link, AIU may receive a commission from the provider. Any commission is paid by the provider, not the reader, and does not change the price the reader pays. Whether a commission arises depends on the provider’s programme terms.
A commercial relationship with a provider did not determine whether its courses were included, and it did not affect what AIU wrote about them. The full position is set out in the Affiliate Disclosure, which governs.
